Do State schools practice Tuft’s Syndrome like Private ones do?

By and large, public schools are less concerned about yield because their potential applicant pool isn’t so wrapped up in the USNWR rankings and any perceived nudge due to “yield”.

The top rated publics, UVA and UMich, Ann Arbor have relatively high accept rates versus the top privates.

While I can’t cite any evidence, the publics have a broader agenda to get their state’s best kids. They aren’t sitting on sites like CC wondering if that single “uber” applicant is going to accept their offer or not.

No, I don’t think so. I think they’ll just offer some aid - kinda like the Regent scholarships…

Ah good, thanks ^_^

State schools with a few exceptions spend much less time on apps that privates, so no, most just want the #s.

It also wouldn’t work because they are not in competition with higher cost schools for many kids so many will choose" the state over HYP.
