Statistics 2010

a couple of MC questions…
the one about the clam shells or something, with the box-plots? lol. i narrowed it down to two, & then i couldn’t for the life of me figure out which one was ‘not true’…

one of the very first questions whose answer was like ‘double-blind test…’ & that had 2 different choices. one was ‘with independent groups’ & i don’t remember the other. i think i put ‘…independent groups’ :/

For the clam one, I’m pretty certain is was E or D, forgot which. The choice that said the IQR of one was bigger that the other. I also had it narrowed down to two, but I realized one of them mentioned the mean pulled to the right (less) rather than towards the tail end (more). As for the independent groups question, I answered with the opposite option.

I think my main worries include not finishing #5 due to time restraints, messing up on a probability section in the car models problem, and the stupid Fahrenheit Celsius MC.

@K2FLUTE

Your wrong my friend. It makes little sense to chose the other option…
It is two “independent groups…”

Oh, I know I’m probably wrong, haha. I just meant to state what I put on the exam in comparison. Thanks for pointing that out, though. : )

That test was SO hard.

Guessed on basically 11 of the MC, Screwed around with the FRQ (At one point I wrote how much my teacher sucked)

Ahh, I hope I don’t get a 1 at this point.
Pretty dissapointing, I got all 5’s last year, this sucks!

I guess I deserved it, let’s just say I’m not anticipating this score back. Now I will commence not thinking about it and attempt to piece my brain back together:)

how did you get the standard deviation for the FR?
It was a discrete probability (something with cars)…
The mean was 15.xx, but for standard dev…I guessed 48, lol

The test was shockingly accessible for blowing off the class all year. I’m hoping for a 3 or 4.

for the cars i took the number of model E/ total to get the proportion and did the standard deviation of the propotion if i remember correctly

the only one i left blank was the one where u had to convert standard dev of 5 degrees F into C. I had NO IDEA

Has the embargo to discuss the test been lifted?

@trav, yeah I couldn’t really figure that one out either…
I just plugged in a list of numbers into my calc, converted, and compared the stdevs

That test was weird. The free response was confusing. On #6 did everyone use box plots? Multiple choice was ok. Hopefully everyone did really bad so the test gets a good curve
I didn’t answer 5 multiple choice, and 4 parts in the free response. :(

It’s discuss at your own risk, and thats all im gonna say. I think I did well, even though I left 1 blank on mc and 2b blank on Fr.

Well, I used a triple bar graph, doesn’t matter though.

And yeah there was no sqrt on the answers, it was 5/9(x-32). x was 5 i think? your supposed to square 5 solve, then sqrt. but there is no possible answer that matches

It was just (5/9)*5, I think, though I thought the same thing you did

I skipped 5 questions, guessed on around 12, and probably got the rest of the MC right. I only got around 6? parts of the FRQ though. What would that be? A 3?

That’s not too bad for not paying attention all year, not studying, and having a crap teacher right? :p

^ I did (5/9)^2(5), why? I have no idea!

Oh well, I left it blank. Our desks were terrible, they had voting going on in the typical room, so they put us in the small crappy room. They were connected desk and seats and the desks were about the size of my arm…the packet and my calculator couldn’t even fit on the desk…

Hey kids - if AP tracks your specific test discussions back to you, you are royally screwed and it could also jeopardize the test results of all your classmates. If you are smart enough to take the test, you are smart enough to follow the rules. I don’t know what the waiting period is, but I can guarantee you it is NOT a few hours. (there is a sticky on top that explains this)

mods should just lock the thread and make it so no one can see it for 24 hours then. People have already started to discuss it.
