Statistics major requirements

On their website, berkeley says that a stat major needs “3 STATISTICS ELECTIVES (at least one course must have a lab).” What is the difference between a lab and a normal course? Is the lab easier? Any recomendations for a soon to be stat major?

Lab courses are 4 units, and non lab upper division courses are 3 units. Only Stochastic Processes(stat 150) and Game Theory (stat 155) are non lab courses. I found lab courses are easier than non lab ones because the grades are more based on hwk and projects rather than midterm and final.
