Has anyone taken the honors seminar for Stats 10? If so, is it worth the extra hour a week, and did it provide any useful information?

It’ll give you 6 honors units if you’re in the honors program. You have the opportunity to get to know your professor better (since these seminars are usually capped at around 20 students most of the times, but varies depending on class interest), in case you want a letter of rec.

And what you do/learn depends on the class and professor. Esfandiari (sp?) when she offered the seminar for stats 10 had the people get into partners/small groups and do some mini-stats project that they had to present, and the project was molded around the student’s interests (ie medical related). That was just her and different stats professor do different things.

many students in stats 13 took the extra honors section and they said it was really worth it. Im guessing the same goes for stats 10 (we learn the same material i think), but its really dependent on the professor. btw, try to get Christou, he has a really lenient curve at the end.
