<p>How hard is this course? Someone said it might not be a good course for a first semester freshman as there are lots of low grades. On the other hand I have to take it for econ and I don’t think I will know anymore about stats later than I do now which is nothing.</p>
<p>I could see why you would opt to take stats now if you took it in hs because your mind is fresh and its pretty recent. But if you know nothing, then you’ll go into the class the same whether you took stats now or later.</p>
<p>The problem with Statistics in general is that Duke doesn’t recognize AP credit even though it probably should, which means a lot of kids with the AP credit take the intro course - meaning half the class or more has already learned the stuff.</p>
<p>Generally you’re advised to take lighter courses as you adjust to the rigors - mostly in the form of distractions - of college.</p>
