Accepted LSA in Cognitive Science. Heck Yes!

OOS and sent in everything on the last day.

OMG Im In! Its on the top of my list. Too bad I got rejected from northwestern ed I. But who cares? Im a wolverine!

Trust me, Michigan is a more complete experience than Northwestern.

How so? Northwestern is like my dream school because of its balance in all areas. Music, academics blah blah.

I think Alex is referring to the great academics at michigan along with the whole “undergrad experience” offered by michigan (good athletics, fun activities, great college town, etc…)

outofstateorbust, Michigan and Northwestern are both very balanced…but Michigan is more well blalanced than Northwestern. Academically and reputationally, the two schools are equal. Michigan is slighly more balanced academically. The campus atmosphere and school spirit at Michigan is also slightly better than at Northwestern. And of course, Ann Arbor is cooler than Evanston. But Northwestern does have Chicago.

I know what he meant. But how does northwestern’s music program rank to umich?

sorry if i came out sounding rude(hauck). Thanks for the info, are you an alumni or something(alexandre)? Do you know if they have any outreach programs to help underprivileged urms? Im like extremely broke my family income is less than 10,000.

Michigan is ranked #4, Northwestern #6…according to a USNWR ranking in the 1990s. There hasn’t been a ranking of music schools in recent years, but I’d say Michigan and Northwestern are equal when it comes to their Music departments.

http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~landay/school-rankings94.txt

Scroll toward the bottom for Music school rankjngs.

Yes, I am an alum, but I turned down Northwestern to attend Michigan. Like I said, academically, the two schools are equal, But I think Michigan is more well-rounded.

As for out-reach programs to assist underprivileged URMs, I hope Michigan can do something. Like most universities, we need more diversity. Given your family income, I would be surprised if Michigan did not offer you substential aid. Did you contact the office of Financial aid? You should call them and see what sort of need-based aid they can offer you.

Outofstate, did you find out via snail mail or email?

I found out by checking my status online. Right next to view credentials it will say “view decision”.
