Dsmo, a 3.8 unweighed GPA with a 1380 on the SAT isn’t low for Cornell. Both are rioght around the Cornell mean.

Does UM release all of their decisions at the same time on the same day? or do they release them continuously throughout the day, because I heard about someone who’s decision wasn’t posted till like midnight or something.

Are the Eastern schools sending out acceptances in March? A previous poster said he got into CMU and Lehigh. I thought the dates were 4/1 and 4/15.

Thanks for pointing that out, Alexandre. =)

Dsmo is partially correct, though, 'cause the version of Cornell’s likely letter that I received was specifically for URMs…I’m not sure I would have received one otherwise (my essays were awesome, though, so I dunno).

I got accepted to LSA today

28 ACT

I think you may have been referring to me. I wasn’t expecting any college decisions until at least next week, so I’m as surprised as you are about getting decisions this early.

i got in! :)

surprisingly…
my SATs weren’t that high, 1330/1600 and 2100/2400…

but yeah, i’m in =). tho, it’s too far and kindda cold so prolly not going there but it’s def a good feeling.

hey whiskers, did they email you to tell you your decision was posted or did you just check and it was there?

i checked online, and there it was: “view decision” right next to my “view credientials”.

3.5 gpa

i go to the lawrenceville school which probably helped

ACCEPTED: LSA (Saturday Morning)

3.9 weighted GPA

Good ECs
OK/Good Essays

Ahh I get so frustrated when I see people with lower SAT’s and higher GPA’s than myself getting in.

I goto a really hard school, why can’t Michigan see that?

Does anyone know if all merit award notifications have been sent out already? Just wanted to know if there was any slight chance that ill get anything at all in terms of scholarship money, although i certainly don’t expect anything since im OOS. I lived in Michigan my entire life until I moved away in the middle of high school, and now I’m sort of upset about having to pay this out-of-state tuition which I can’t afford. Also, since i just got accepted, is it too late to apply for honors? If I decide to go can I apply later? Thanks.

still havent heard… only school im waiting on.

Me neither . . . bah I hope I hear this week

ccrunner, that doesnt stand for concord carlisle runner does it? Anyway, I agree with you on that hard school part. I wish michigan had a better relationship with my school so they could see that its a difficult school. It seems kids from my school only go to NESCAC schools like Williams, middlebury, conn college, bates, etc. I really wish the state schools would take the time to evalute our class difficulty.

IN! (I am so very very happy!)

Technically out-of-state, but really in-state (out-of-state school)

3.9 uw GPA (u-mich, maybe 3.6, 3.7)
33 ACT
OK ECs
OK/bad essays
Also: I had a very good recommendation from a teacher.

No, “cc” stands, simply, for cross country, as I am an avid runner.

I attend a very small private school (30 person senior class) with an average SAT of 1400 (old SAT). Our reputation is outstanding with the local schools and catholic schools (Georgetown, BC, Notre Dame) and several of the ivies (namely Columbia, as we have sent nearly 7 in the last couple of years), but, we hardly send people to good publics like Michigan or Wisconsin or Berkeley. Most students goto top LAC’s or other privates and ivy leagues, rather than the top publics. Therefore, our reputation is really lacking.

I don’t blame Michigan at all for this lack of reputation, but I feel like I’ve been wronged because my school has terrible grade deflation. Although my SAT’s are good, my low GPA makes me appear like a smart slacker, which is completely untrue, as I study my ass off for mediocre grades.

Do they pay more attention on the UW GPA than the Standardized Test Score?
