As you know I was looking for airline ticket shopping strategies last week. I am getting some really good prices right now by routing through Houston, but am nervous due to the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. I found an article online that said United was up and running in Houston as of last weekend. I figured someone here might have better first hand knowledge of reality. I am getting ticket prices about $400 lower per person by going this route so there’s significant savings. I also figure more likely to miss snow delays when compared to flying through Newark or Chicago.
My H flew in and out of IAH last week on United on Monday, 9/11. His flights were on time and he didn’t mention any disruptions in the airport. When are you flying?
Daughter and boyfriend will be flying in December. Thanks for the information. We will enjoy that $800 savings on two tickets!

went thru Houston on UA on Friday and it all seemed back to normal.
Airports have been fine since Labor Day weekend. My BIL flew into IAH that Sat and my sister into Hobby the next day. She’s also flown out of IAH several times for work.
