Steely Dan's Walter Becker has died

Steely Dan has long been one of my favorite bands. I was able to see Walter Becker and Donald Fagen perform last summer.

He will be missed.

I’m wearing black today. My 2 best friends and I took a long drive up the coast and shuffled more than 100 Steely Dan songs all day.

My dad used to play Steely Dan on our drive up to the ski resort where I grew up. Whenever I hear their songs now I am reminded of those cold dark early winter mornings, driving through blizzard weather up to the resort in his old 4runner.

He didn’t attend the Classic East Concert at Citi Field in late July. I thought Steely Dan played excellent and their 13-song play list included all but Deacon Blues from the list above.
