stem cell researcher

how do u become one?? do u need to take a course…i see people posting int hreads they are one and wasnt courtney sachs one too?

Oh I wanna become one as well! I second this question!

You mean a career as a stem cell researcher right? There’s really not much you can do as a HS student unless you can find a position in a research lab and/or do something like the Intel STS.

If you mean becoming a stem cell researcher for a career, Well you’d have to go through college, preferably get some sort of science degree, and then go to grad school to get a PhD (or an MD/PhD) in something related like biomedical sciences, molecular biology, etc. Then you have to find a job with one of the many laboratories that are studying stem cells (NIH, numerous research universities, etc)

If you want to go into science research as a career, you should be looking for an undergraduate program which supports a great deal of meaningful undergraduate research, and allows you to become close with two or three professors – research and recommendations are two of the most important factors for PhD admissions in the biomedical sciences.
