You need to read the websites of each of the universities that you are interested in, and find out whether they will require an SAT score. If you transfer after two years, you probably won’t need to take the SAT.

The pre-med courses are basically the same where ever you take them. You can stay at your current university, get good grades, and get good letters of recommendation from your professors for medical school. Lots of immigrant students do just that. You don’t have to graduate from a “top 25” university in order to get into a good medical school. Ask the pre-med advisor at your university where the students from your university have gone to med school in each of the past five years. You can also look at the Med School Forum here at CC. Click on “Discussion Home” in the upper left of this screen, and then scroll down.

Since you are near Rice U, you should make an appointment with the transfer admissions office. They should be able to give you some advice about what you need to do in order to become a better candidate.
