<p>I'm going to be a 2nd year at UCR, I have always been an average student since high school, and my first year at Riverside was pretty bad. Now I have decided I want to pick up my grade , my current gpa is 3.0 and a bioengineering major. I really want to transfer to an out-of-state school or private and just get away from my hometown. What should i do the upcoming year to stand out and raise my gpa?</p>
<p>The only real way to raise the GPA is to buckle down and study. Can your parents afford you going from a UC to OOS or a private??</p>
<p>Yeah I have been studying, but what should I do to stand out and get recommendations ? Yeah they are able to afford it. Should I change my major to something easier and try to raise my GPA?</p>
