Does Stern put applicants on a waiting list?

I don’t think Stern applicants can be put on a waiting list or deferred. You either get accepted or rejected.

Nope someone I know was waitlisted

Oh haha that’s good to know! Thanks for the correction :)

How could they not put some people on a wait list? That just doesnt make sense to me. Some people they accept may decide that they can not afford NYU (as good as Stern is, if you dont have the money, you dont have the money), some may get in at Wharton and go there.

Sorry, I was thinking of ED, which is what I did.

There is a waitlist, but it’s significantly smaller than some other comparable or Tier-1 schools. i.e. UPenn (Wharton) has a fairly sizable waitlist because they enjoy the luxury of being the premiere undergrad business program, whereas Stern is only top-5 for ugrad business and #2 for finance. NYU in general has a large waitlist, but Stern’s isn’t as big.
