**My interview went really well.

i’d say you’ve got a great chance of getting into stevens. your only weakness might be EC’s, unless you were involved in other ones that you didn’t put down. but your SAT’s and everything else are there.

i’m also applying to stevens. what can you tell me about the interview? (e.g. whether it was an alumni interviewer, how long the interview took, what types of questions he/she asked, etc.) any info would be greatly appreciated!

I had only one college interview and it was at Stevens. I did it with an admissions officer and it was really laid-back and almost like a conversation. It really only took maybe 15-20 minutes, and that might be pushing it. I suggest bringing a transcript or activities log so you have something to discuss. All in all, I thought it was really encouraging as the guy told me I had a “99.9% chance of getting in” haha. I wish you the best of luck.

We have nearly identical sat scores and your average + rank is higher and i was accepted last year so rest assured, i think you’ll get accepted.

Bluefaced are you a current student or did you end up somewhere else?

Makshim, I am currently enrolled at NYU CAS.

Ah, OK. Too bad, I would have loved some feedback. Why did you ultimately choose to go somewhere else?

Does anyone know when Regular Decision applicants will hear back? Stevens is the only school I have yet to hear back from.

3/15. My birthday. Hopefully (duh) I get in.

yay! 3/15…hoorah for someone telling me before april 1. i dread those two weeks of rejection/acceptance.
thanks for the feedback–yea, why did you choose the other above stevens? I have to be making some decisions soon, but I visited stevens and really liked it. I did not, however, enjoy the 12 hour drive.

where are you from seuferk? i have to take a 2 hour stroll up the turnpike and I thought that was bad haha.

Gosh that would be nice…I live in the NC mountains. a long, long way from most of the colleges I’ve applied to. The best engineering are up there though, which really sucks.

Ha, I live like 30 minutes away. Fall out of bed and I’m there. :D

Aww man I love NC…I was born there. There are some good engineering schools down south though, like Va Tech, Ga Tech, Duke. Although, there are a lot of good engineering schools up this way…kind’ve sucks since it doesn’t give me a good reason to trek across the country for college.

lol…I applied to all three of those, too. and nc state. Where were you born down here? yeah, there are a few good schools down here, but they’re mostly HUGE. Other than Duke. But getting into duke is pretty questionable…but up north there seems to be more with good reps. Are you pretty sure where you want to go?

I was born Statesville, NC…it’s in the middle of the state. Right now it’s between Rensselaer Polytechnic (RPI) Penn State and Stevens, granted I get into Stevens…but I think I have a really good chance. RPI is probably my number one choice right now…but we’ll see how financial aid plays out haha.

that’s exactly what i’m waiting for…financial aid packets. statesville isn’t that far from here…hour…and a half maybe?

Any of you hear from stevens scholars yet?

My interviewer told me that she would enthusiastically recommend me for the program, and that my scores qualified me to apply, and I would get a letter with application details. Been 2 months since the interview and all I got was a seemingly-personal letter from her telling me that I was qualified. I thought she said something about there being an additional essay or something.

anyone know?

shoot. i have no idea. i got a letter from my interviewer saying he was recommending me, too. if you find out, please post it.

At my interview I was told that I qualify for the program. And the letter said she would be “supporting my candidacy.” But no reference to the scholars program. I believe to be a Stevens Scholar one has to have a 1300+ SAT and top 10% class ranking. I have a 1410, but am not even in the top 1/4. So I don’t know how that works out.
