Still headache - CMU & U of Rochester

<p>I want to attend to CMU but my parents prefer U of Rochester because there is $10,000 more grant. We are still discussing about that. </p>

<p>So I sent an acceptance letter and money deposit to two universities.</p>

<p>Is there any penalty for accepting two universities temporary?</p>

<p>It is not considered correct in the U.S. to do that; I don’t know if there are always penalties but it is just one of those things that is not done.</p>

<p>It’s May 14. So even if you broke protocol, and sent 2 deposits in, why are you still undecided?</p>

<p>What’s going to change between now and two weeks from now? You really think you can wear your parents down? My guess is that it’s unlikely. Make your decision based on what your parents will pay, and begin the process of falling in love with the school you’re going to.</p>

<p>If it is not CS at CMU, then go along with your parents. If it is CS at CMU convince them that it will be far more worth to go to CMU than the $10/yr.</p>
