Still no Stanford interview

North CA but not within bay area, suburb area, still no stanford interview as of 02/02. There should many alumni nearby. I do not think my basic stats (GPA, rank, SAT…) will trigger auto reject. Is it possible that my application has been reviewed by AO and decision has been made?

What percentage of applicants will get interview?

I can report that my S25 (Bay area, top stats) have not received any interview from Stanford. So either they plan to set them later, or not at all. You’re not the only one there.

Applied RD.

It doesn’t mean anything at all. Most don’t get interviews. Alumni aren’t always available to do them. Even there are many in your area, they often have busy schedules and don’t have time to meet with every applicant.

Thanks for your info. I am wondering if it is because too many CA applicants. I know most above -average students here will try stanford. In the worst case, if no interview at all, do you happen to know the percentage of admitted Stanford students without interview?

really? I thought ppl with no interview should be the minority. If most don’t have interview, there should be a significant percentage of admitted Stanford students without interview.

An interview is not required for Stanford admissions. Many times no alumni are not available and that is not held against the candidate.

However, Stanford’s acceptance rate is around 4% so obviously the vast majority of applicants will not be admitted, whether they have an interview or not.

My D23 was interviewed and not accepted, her friend, same school (Bay Area) was not interviewed and got waitlisted - it really does not mean anything.

As @worriedmomucb mentioned, 96% of applicants won’t be accepted, so time for you to let this one go. No sense worrying about something you can’t control.

Good luck!

It’s impossible to schedule interviews for all applicants. According to Stanford’s CDS - Interview is “considered” in application process. Don’t think about it too much!

D23 did not have an interview & got accepted to Stanford.
