<p>Wow… I was researching market trends and came across this panel discussion from 1997, when the expert consensus held that the market had peaked. </p>

<p>Of course, we *now *know that it peaked in 2000. Is it peaking again now? All I know is that the experts don’t know much more than the rest of us. Who can recommend a good mutual fund? :slight_smile: Mine charges a lot but doesn’t really outperform the S&P500 :(</p>

<p>oops, on re-reading I see that one of the panelists does say he doesn’t think the bull market was ending. But he also said “Well, this is the first major correction that the market has had since 1980” … what about the crash of 1987 ???</p>
