My recommendation for a place to look for fun stocking stuffers (from Simple Magazine): Anniesgeneralstore [Blue Ribbon General Store, a unique assortment of clothing, accessories, home and gift items.](<a href=“Annie's Blue Ribbon General Store”>Annie's Blue Ribbon General Store) I’m getting a few inexpensive presents there.

Thanks for the book suggestions, I think it will have to be the game of thrones 1, and I will look into the lemony snicket new series too. Good suggestions

Re: books-- City of Dreams and Song of the Vikings for anyone interested in history. City of Dreams is graphic about some medical surgical stuff, but so is Cutting for Stone.

Munequita, I just looked it up, its ’ all the wrong questions’ and it’s for Tweens. So I am set, this one for my 11 year old and game of thrones part 1 for the college freshman and Cutting for stone for me I am all set.

… Hey wait… /I/ want the lemony snicket new series! I loved those as a “tween” and started rereading them not all that long ago and I still enjoyed them…

We love stockings in our house and I have fond memories of stockings as a child. I still have the stocking purchased by my grandmother when I was born. She died before I was two, so it’s dear to me. I no longer hang it up by the fireplace it as it’s very worn, but I use it as a decoration every year.

My favorite stocking stuffer as a child was the Lifesavers book of candy. The one staple for my kids stockings and DH’s are molasses chips from Sees.

We’ve never wrapped stocking stuffers, but I may do that this year as presents are fewer as they are more expensive!

^^^Yes, I loved the Lifesaver book as a kid. Long lasting candy! Thanks for reminding me. I also liked that little bag of “gold nuggets” candy…was it gum?? I guess I was influenced by packaging!

I have also gotten some nice Godiva stocking stuffers at the Macy’s check out counter, so I could use my coupons. They helped up the purchase amount to exceed the $25 minimum so I could get $10 off. Worked well! They were buy 1 & get 2nd for 50% off, plus you could use the $10 off coupon!

Bought some instant dessert mixes that you just add water to–those are always popular. Spice rubs also make nice stocking stuffers. Mac nuts, trail mix, edibles always go over well with folks in our household. Small multi-tools are also popular.

My mother is the best at stockings. I still use the small whisks and spatulas I got one year. In general I like getting small kitchen stuff. Cabernet paste, little jars of honey or jam, garlic presses, a new potato peeler etc.

This year we picked up some small sachets in Jordan filled with incense and some mosaic refridgerator magnets. They had nice coasters that would also have worked as stocking stuffers.

mini liquour bottles (at the counter of my local wine store) and cocktail infusions (think pomegranate mixer for your vodka) - for the grown ups, of course!

Surprised to learn how many give post-it notes- D2 loves them and we’ve been putting them in her stocking for years. Santa always brings DH a pack of red pens and some interesting hot sauce. There are always cute socks for the girls. And we get each the four-pack of movie tix at AAA- they love that. Sometimes they make them last, other times they can treat a friend.
As for books, ha, we gave up buying them for D1, a fast reader- she’ll get some library books, under the tree.
Yes, there’s always the least in my stocking- I never thought of just stuffing my own- great!

These can be a little bit more expensive stocking stuffers, but if you need to buy a few smaller gifts for any girls/ladies, free shipping for $40 yet today till 2pm at Vera Bradley - they have some cute smaller gifts in the $10-13 range that are useful - I just bought some contact lenses cases for $12.99 that could be used for contacts, pills, jewelry, etc.

All the girls (including me) have one of these at our house - handy to put on your key ring and insert your license and credit card/cash inside the zipper for trips when you don’t want to carry a purse

(also Ebates has 3% back on the Vera site!)
