I think that most people who play games with their friends have already encountered Cards Against Humanity. I’ve mentioned it to several game players, and they were already very familiar with it (with varying impressions).

I didn’t see protein, kind, clif bars mentioned yet. I got my sons plastic playing cards. We get different types of candy too. Bath products have not been a hit for my guys. I was at the mall the other day, and Brookstone is selling something like wet sand, but it’s not messy. It was kind of cool, but I didn’t get it. When they were younger I got many little Lego kinds of things. I have given up on ornaments for now, but i did find cheap snow globes that light up and change colors at Macys. At the grocery store today I saw nice packets of hot cocoa, and my kids count on getting chocolate covered pretzels.
One more thing I got this year is a finger strengthener. It would fit in most stockings.

Today I decided this is likely going to be the year of the gift cards for stocking stuffers. This occurred to me after I realized whenever Ds are home together, and they head out to ‘run errands’ together, they always manage to sneak my debit card out, and I always find surprise charges from Target on my statement. So, they obviously can always find something they like at Target! Also picked up some iTunes gift cards, and will pick up some Fandango gift cards for movies.

Container Store has a lot of stocking stuffers–some are expensive, but they have a $1.99 eyeglass repair kit that I bought for everyone in the family. I also usually get a screen cleaner. Cost Plus is another great source for stocking stuffers, especially mini food items.

I have always put in a DVD in each kids stocking. That usually meant Harry Potter for D and a Disney or Pixar for S. It has gotten harder since the last Potter movie came out and S is now 15, so a little old for G and some PG movies.

I also usually put in socks or underwear. I always put in a $25 barnes and noble gift card and a $25 gift card geared to the kids interest.

That reminds me, I need to get some candy to put in this year…

My children love Scratch Tickets in their stocking. I put a roll in each stocking and they usually win some small amounts. One year my son won $400. Not for every family, my parents used to be “appalled” and thought it was in poor taste when they were visiting us for Christmas.

Gas cards, razor blades, tire pressure gauges, small Lego kits, and Nerf guns. And for those who have friends, relatives, spouses who like Dunkin Donuts, do you know you can get customized GCs with their favorite picture or whatever on it? I have bought these customized GC for coaches with team pic, for H with family pic, for friends with special sayings, etc. Always a hit. Well unless they are a Starbucks fan.
