**Stony Brook University Class of 2021 Decisions**

I’m wondering too… I’m visiting in a few days so I’m going to try to ask

Can you provide your GPA and SAT scores for the rest of us? any special skills? What major? Please. thanks.

@AlumDadMA 3.2 gpa, 30 Act. Computer Engineering. Lots of extra curricular related to the tech field. Was a suprise acceptance into the engineering school.

My daughter received an email with presidential scholarship worth 4500 per year. We are still waiting for honors and/wise program. Her stats are 4.0 and 1520 new sat. Does anyone know if can you revive more than one scholarship or getting presidential means she isn’t going to get honors or wise program ones ? Thanks

@tganns definitely! I received deans scholarship and presidential scholarship. I’m still waiting on honors/wise.

@ChinChin666 That “AOI in Pre-Computer Engineering” is the program you were accepted to. The AOI means there are pre-requisites to the actual major that will need to be completed freshman year, I think.

Do they let you know about honors program after all acceptances have been sent out?

Thank you.

In state student…got scholarship in email today…honors programs acceptances come out in March…

@journalismlover is it just a normal visit to the campus or is it one of the days where they are showing incoming freshmen around?

My D got provostial scholarship of $7500/ year! we are surprised! She is OOS, GPA 3.67/4.2, SAT 1330, dancer, Girl Scouts. She got email that financial aid info available. No word on honors or wise program. This puts Stony Brook “in the game”.

I’m going a day early but yeah its to show students around @Anonymous261

Also if its helpful, my weighted gpa is around a 4.0 and my SAT score was above 1300:) @AlumDadMA

Also I’m extremely involved in journalism in and out of my high school and I had an internship last summer and have been asked back this summer. That’s what I highlighted:) @AlumDadMA

Honestly I don’t think stats are that important to college process. Nearly all of the graduating class at my school gets into stony brook every year. So i don’t think grades is the important thing

@Anonymous 261 I guess I would follow up the ask with what majors do they all get accepted to? Universities this size typically have varying acceptance criteria dependent upon the major that the student applies for.

I got accepted to the School of Atmospheric Sciences with 3.85 gpa in a top public MA high school, 1370 SAT, strong activities and recommendations and an essay that I worked very hard on that clearly stated why I wanted to go into the field. I’ve been notified of some scholarships already

@AlumDadMA I wouldn’t know exactly what major they all got into. I know many of the people in my school generally go for pre med, engineering, applied math or computer science. Which the “stats” of the people need to be high to get in.

Of course there are a lot of people that get in for other majors as well in science or arts field. So it’s really not just stats but what invidual people are capable of.

Accepted!
