Stop complaining about being waitlisted

For all those you are saying you were waitlisted and complain that it’s because you were overqualified, or giving other reason to simply defend your ego, stop it. Seriously. There are people who have gotten with less SAT/ACT/GPA than you who feel offended by your arrogance. If you continue to act arrogant, then you don’t belong in WUSTL because we only like collaboration, not competition.

I got in, but I don’t blame people who are discussing the WUSTL waitlist. There is every reason to want to speculate about their waitlisting practices, especially since they don’t even publish the common data set or the number of students they waitlist. It makes sense for qualified students who got into UChicago and MIT EA to wonder why they were waitlisted from WUSTL. It is natural to have these thoughts; I certainly had them when I was deferred from UMich EA (but got into other selective schools).

It’s understandable for a wait listed student to try to make sense of the decision.

It’s also understandable for an accepted student with lower stats to “feel offended by [the] arrogance.”
