I have a question regarding my laptop’s Lithium Ion battery. Based on several online sources, I have found that it is best to store the battery in a fridge at 32 F at 40% charge to preserve it until I need it again (because it is bad to leave it in charging all the time). I just want some input if this is a good idea for me to do considering I don’t need the portability of the laptop which is enabled by a battery during the summer, when it will be on the desk most of the time. Thanks in advance.

That’s the advice.

Yes, that would be the best way to preserve the life of your battery if you are not using it.

If you ALWAYS use your computer plugged in, you can remove the battery completely (store it in the fridge) and use AC power only (Just be sure to not unplug it while your computer is on).
