All I can say is that I hope she is found safe and sound and that this really breaks my heart. I have no words to describe my feelings about the parents. I don’t think she should be allowed to go back to them.
I have very little hope, sadly. Coyotes are vicious.

This is so sad. What is wrong with people!
Who waits 5 hours to report a missing 3 year old?? Oh wait, a wack job that makes a 3 year old stand outside at 3 am for not drinking her milk!
I would not drink milk at 3am myself. Glad no one locked me out at that hour, especially with coyotes in the area. Sheesh! Sounds very odd, especially reporting 5 hours later!
Oh no question that the dad was vicious. I strongly suspect the child was not “left outside” and taken by coyotes, as the father claims. I saw an earlier article about this that did sound like it was for sure she has been taken outside.
Richardson,Texas is very suburn in some parts urban, it is highly unlikely that coyotes had anything to do with this. If there were a coyote problem in Richardson, UTD wouldn’t have the large rabbit population it has (a huge plus on my youngest’s college check list!)
We live in the urbanish suburbs, and the rabbit population is insane. Coyotes are constantly singing around midnight, and pets often disappear if left outside… Coyotes roamed certain neighborhoods in Seattle a few years ago brazenly taking a dog in broad daylight. So yes, it could be coyotes. But would anyone put a small child outside knowing there are coyotes in the area? Not hearing her scream?
I don’t buy this scenario at all. I bet the police don’t either, and they’ve already said they have no signs that a coyote may have harmed the child.
More likely he lost his temper with a child that has developmental issues… lost control for a moment… did something… and now is covering it up with what sounds to me like an absurd story.
^ Agree. There’s no way this is the real story.
He killed her. I can only hope he leads police to the body rather quickly so that this can be over quickly.
Where’s the mom in all this?
I’ve seen coyote in this suburb of NY. We are talking about lots that are 1/8 acre, not suburbia suburbia. That said, does it matter? He killed her either way.
It will likely matter for the degree of homicide.
I’ve lived on the outskirts of DFW all my life, never heard of a coyote attacking any human unless cornered or rabid. It would have been a pack and the whole neighborhood would have heard.
He killed her.

The guy does not sound like the sharpest criminal mind. Why did he wait so long to report her missing? That makes the story of taken by coyotes much less credible.
Another adoption with no happy end.
Not buying his story one bit and you can bet the police don’t either.
Thank God they removed the other child from the household. That guy’s story is a bunch of baloney.
Sickening.
His story is extremely sketchy. Who puts their very young child outside in the middle of the night as a “punishment”? Nope, nope, nope.
It’s obvious why it took hours to report: they had to dispose of the body.
Sickening.
