Strange learning/communication issue

For the most part, I am a slow learner. However, given a quiet room to think in, I can connect the dots pretty quickly. I do well on all my tests and have a reasonably high gpa (3.9+). However, whenever people ask me a question (that I may have sorted out earlier in my studies), I generally fail to answer their question and realize the answer only moments after they give up on my response. This bothers me a lot because I always do well on my exams but sometimes I’m slow when it comes to answering things on the fly, especially when there is noise. So even though I do well, I can’t express that very well. Sometimes I consider myself an anomaly. People who perform a lot worse than me on exams may even seem quicker than me at times, but it’s not as if I’m oblivious to what the answer is. My mind just likes to freeze up.

…and?

The point is, I’d like to be able to help people when they ask, not just get good grades. I’d like to be ‘useful’.

I think I’m kinda similar. I get good grades though not quite as good as yours but I have a lot of trouble in labs where I have to do stuff quickly and not much time to think. I have problems with noise too so i require very quiet environments to study in. I don’t know how to help…just saying I’m similar.

Are you socially adverse or is it just about science stuff?

It seems like it’s a problem with working under pressure.
