My mom was reading an old book to my little brother. When she got to the name Dick, my little brother was shocked that someone would have Dick as a name. He insisted that she change the name to something else in the story.

A guy that worked at the same company I did had the last name Longest, and his first name was Richard but he went by the nickname. They used to put out department lists with >last name, first name< format.
True story!
Hope he’s not reading this forum.

David Davis. Peter Peters. Green Moss. Golden Woods. Wee Wee Tony (no kidding). Refa Dick (ok…anyone here go to my Jr. High school? She was the history teacher).

Also, I’m a teacher and I have hundreds of names that would be amusing, but I hesitate to put them here because on of them might be a CC poster (or parent).

My kids went to an elem. school where the principal was Joyce Joyce. She said her parents begged her to keep her maiden name, but it was hard to spell and pronounce and besides, nobody ever forgot the double name. (see she was right)
