Strange Names

Since we are on the subject of names, what are some of the strange names you have come across?

I have met a Clamidia (pronounced like the STD) and a SharPay (like the dog breed).

I went to school with a Skeeter (boy) and a Kritter (girl), and a couple of kids with actual given names of Bubba and Junior.

Feather Sunrise and Paisley are the first that come to mind, but I know there are others.

All STD names are poor choices. What was that mother thinking?

Grace Paradise - and she actually played the harp professionally!

I knew an Annabel Lee in junior high. Her sister was Vivian. I’m sure if there had been a brother he would have been Robert E.

^ Once again, that makes me miss our cc poster who went by the name of Robert E. Lee. He was a hoot.

I actually knew a Robert Roberts.

Bottom Dwyer (the youngest)

Dawn Bahn

Candi Kane

Richard Dick. Called “Dick” Dick.

Peach Pare.

I knew a girl called Robin Roberts lol.

Once met a policeman named Officer Friendly. Also knew a Candy Kane in high school.

Happy Smiles and Drano Plumber were both children that my sister, an elementary school teacher, have taught in the past.

My mom was reading an old book to my little brother. When she got to the name Dick, my little brother was shocked that someone would have Dick as a name. He insisted that she change the name to something else in the story.

A guy that worked at the same company I did had the last name Longest, and his first name was Richard but he went by the nickname. They used to put out department lists with >last name, first name< format.
True story!
Hope he’s not reading this forum.

I posted this in the other thread, but-- Precious Love.

Also, Frank Frank.

David Davis. Peter Peters. Green Moss. Golden Woods. Wee Wee Tony (no kidding). Refa Dick (ok…anyone here go to my Jr. High school? She was the history teacher).

Also, I’m a teacher and I have hundreds of names that would be amusing, but I hesitate to put them here because on of them might be a CC poster (or parent).

Maybe this doesn’t count because I read it in a book of strange names, but the editor of the book swore these were names of real people:

Phillie B. DeBoo

Say it three times fast. I absolutely love the iambic pentameter (or whatever . . . )

My kids went to an elem. school where the principal was Joyce Joyce. She said her parents begged her to keep her maiden name, but it was hard to spell and pronounce and besides, nobody ever forgot the double name. (see she was right)

I know somone who named their daughter Talia Jenna. I always wondered if in grade school they would reverse those two names!
