Strange Transfer Question...

My friend was accepted to CC early decision. She planned on being a pure physics major, however she is now interested in Applied Physics as a major. Her high school record and SAT II / AP scores all demonstrate extreme strength in the typical engineering areas (math / chem / physics). Is there any way she could transfer to SEAS before even attending?

i think that’s a question for the admissions office.

I’ve never heard of a preemptive transfer, but calling the admissions office would be the first step. If they say no, she should take the engineering courses during freshman year (calc, chem, phys) to prepare herself to transfer. In the extreme case that she doesn’t get in as a transfer, she can always do the dual degree CC-SEAS 5 year program.

if ur really serious about it take the exact same courses you would if you were doing the applied physics track, it wont hurt either way and then you can transfer over to SEAS…you will be accepted instantly if you idicate that you are a female who wants to do applied physics.
