<p>I will be attending UT next year as an Environmental Science and Plan II student. Because of that dual degree, I will be hard-pressed to graduate even with a five-year graduation plan, making it pretty important that I am able to get my schedule as streamlined and efficient as possible. I know that there is a bit of competition at each orientation for some of the classes that are in high demand, and like everyone, it would be nice to be able to get the right classes <em>and</em> the best professor. </p>
<p>Do any current UT students or parents of UT students have advice on getting signed up for classes as soon as they’re made available? Even just a walk-through of what the process will be like would be really helpful. Good sites for quick professor/class reviews? Any classes that are notoriously hard to get?</p>
<p>You are going to attend classes restricted to Plan II students, and these classes are going to be small and accommodating.
Have you ever been at Plan II orientation?</p>
<p>I’ve actually heard that the lottery for Plan II classes has the potential to really screw people over if they aren’t aware of how the system works. I’ve never been, but my boyfriend is a current Plan II major and I know many others from my high school that went into it. I get the impression from them that it’s pretty complex
And I will also need to take classes like Bio and Chemistry and Calculus for my Environmental Science major, which puts me in the same pool as the average Science of Anything major</p>
<p>Well, you have a special Plan II meeting during the Summer orientation and the whole 1st semester to figure out how the system works. Why worry now?</p>
