So I’ll admit it, both Pitt and PSU are my safeties. I was recently accepted into Pitt and also got a letter about the honors college. My intended major and finance, and to my understanding, PSU has a much stronger department in that realm over Pitt. In the off chance my only choice was between Pitt or Penn State, what would justify choosing Pitt Finance over Smeal (PSU)?

Better co-op and internship opportunities in the same city, which is one of the nation’s major finance centers, that you are going to actually be going to school in making them much easier to do while in school. Quite possibly a better financial aid or merit-award package. A better honors college (going by admissions scores and major international student awards). Better international business (Pitt’s International Resource Center is designated a national resource center, PSU’s isn’t) and better international study and exchange programs, if you are so interested, and you probably should be in a global economy.
