Strengths & Weakness, What do they mean?

When prep schools ask what are your strengths & weaknesses, do they mean personal or academics? Or both? Also do you list them or make a paragraph?

I’d say that both personal and academic strength/weaknesses are fair game — though your academic strengths/weaknesses should be covered in your school report, transcript, and recommendations.

I’d probably pick 2-4 from each category and write in paragraph form…not bullets. Just my 2¢.

How much space do they give you? I agree with SD ^ They want to see how good a writer you are. Everything should be in essay, and very well written unless specified as otherwise or it’s obvious because of space or character limits necessitating lists or short answers

I would say to definitely write a paragraph. Also, when writing, be sure to turn your weakness’ into something positive. Such as “I struggle with being to sensitive but it has taught me to be more compassionate towards others” and turn it into a double edged sword.

I wondered about using bullet points when it says “list your interests or activities or whatever” rather than paragraph form since it says “list”.

That’s fine. There is no hidden agenda - list means list.
