I am considering buying a Stressless ‘Sunrise’ recliner (two pieces). It’s expensive, but is so comfy in the store. Does anyone have one? Are they worth the money? Any comments on the grade of leather to choose?

I used to go to Scandesign and Dania just to sit in them. Sooo comfy. Finally, we bought one. Not Sunrise, some other model Stressless! We love it. After having it for a year, we also splurged on a Stressless sofa/loveseat set. We chose the lower grade leather which is what was available for the earliest delivery. So far, so good. The cats stay off the set because… leather. 
Another unexpected bonus! The Stressless set was among the few pieces we took to House2 with us (gave most of the other furniture away).
We sat in sooo many stressless type chairs and to our surprise ended up being most comfortable in the Fjords furniture of Norway. We pretty much redid our tv room and home theater in their chairs and sofas.
They have been sooo good for my husband’s sciatic pain.
Whatever brand you go with, try it out in the store for a good half hour to make sure it is “the one”. At these prices it is worth a good test drive. There were some that he knew where a no after just 5 minutes.
I have one. No issues with it and I think we have had it about 10 years. It is still comfy

Good advice to sit in it for awhile. Maybe I’ll take the Sunday paper and a coffee!
I bought a Stressless recliner almost 30 years ago. It’s black leather. It has moved many many times. It was DS1’s favorite place to nap when he was little. He used one armrest as a pillow and draped his legs over the other armrest. He was sad when he could no longer fit in the chair like that. The recliner moved with ds to his first apartment 2 years ago. He’s moving into a dorm in another city, so it has now moved into DD’s apartment. It was the first piece of furniture that she claimed. It still looks about as good as new.

We are thinking of buying this brand. My dad bought two in 1998 or so, and he is still enjoying them. If he has trouble sleeping, he will get up and get in the Stressless chair and fall right to sleep.
I went to the Back Store and they don’t have them in the store. Went back to stressless store and sat in the chair for awhile. The sale ends tomorrow so I will sleep on it. Thx for the feedback
The “sunrise” model is also the one which I feel most comfortable in. Others are too big.

Congrats! Not sure if it reduces stress, but it surely makes lounging in front of the TV or reading a book more comfy.

A timely post! I just saw an add for stressless recliners a couple of days ago and was wondering if one would be good for my husband. He has severe back pain and isn’t able to benefit from some of the usual possible solutions because of a blood clotting disorder (back specialist won’t do the treatment unless he can come off blood thinner for longer than hematologist will allow).
The brand I saw in the add were upward of $3000. What sort of price is this brand?
I bought the Ekornes stressless ‘sunrise’ during the ‘get 500 off and free accessory’ sale. Came to $2500. It is for someone with back, shoulder and knee problems and arrives Thursday.
