<p>Bars are not strict. You will need a fake though to get into any bar other than the Boot (18+) or Quills(19+). It really doesn’t have to look like you at all, just a basic resemblance, same color hair, that sorta thing. Palms is 21, Ms. Maes is 21, F&Ms is 21, Pat O’s (which has been a lot stricter on IDs looking like you lately) and I think most of the other French Quarter Bars are 21. Overall it’s definitely not hard to get into bars, especially if you’re a girl, but an ID is necessary if you want to venture outside the Boot.</p>
<p>Quills is only 18+, Bruno’s (which is right across the street from Quills) is 19+.
You really don’t need a fake ID if you know the bouncers or are there with a fraternity (a couple of the football players work as bouncers at some of the bars, fraternities [especially during rush] will have parties at the bars in the French Quarter and/or F&Ms/The Palms).</p>
<p>I wouldn’t say it’s necessary (I don’t have one) but it can be beneficial if you don’t have an in - especially at the beginning of the semester your freshman year.</p>
