Strongest Program in Columbia CC?

(Not SEAS or GS Plz)

Physics
Chemistry
Biology
Math

POLITICAL SCIENCE
HISTORY
Economics

–Pretty much everything at columbia is near the top if not at the top.

It’s ridiculous to single out one program as the strongest because there are so many that are spectacular, both in the sciences and (especially) in the humanities. And the programs in GS are the same programs as those in CC because the Faculty of Arts and Sciences teaches both (they’re largely the same classes, with the exception of Core courses).

On a personal note, as an English and history double-major, I can attest to the strength of both departments.

thanks! I was wondering mostly about the computer science course and the astrophysics course.

i think the History department and the economics department have a strong reputation

why are you trying to pick out your future major based on rankings?? i guarantee you no employer is going to care that you went to the #5 ranked physics university vs the #1.

whatever your professional goals are (job, grad school, law/med/b-school), a degree from columbia (or any of its peer institutions) will get you pretty much the same opportunities.

stop stressing about the “best program” a place has to offer. only go to the school if you really love it and feel that spending 4 years there is something worth while.
