stucco/paint advice needed!

I’m in the midst of a large, expensive remodeling project. I gave the contractor a color palette for the house that I had my heart set on. Unfortunately, despite my misgivings, the contractor had the upper story (cedar shakes) and trim painted before the stucco went on. Now the stucco guy is finishing his work, but he couldn’t quite match the color palette, and his attempt at doing so has resulted in something that looks terrible (IMHO) against the rest of the colors.

The stucco guy is spraying an acrylic color on the stucco - some product that is meant for masonry. A couple of questions if anyone out there knows something about this stuff: Will the color change with age like other stucco coloring agents do? I know you’re not supposed to paint over stucco, but does anyone have advice for painting over this acrylic finish coat?

I wish I had put my foot down and insisted that the stucco work be done first. Dang!

Can anyone please tell me if there is such a term as “checking” when it has to do with cracks in stucco. I have an 8 yr. old home that has cracks in the stucco. Many cracks that radiate from the corners of the windows and doorways.
