Student - $5000 Private Loan

This is in addition to the Stafford loan which I’m already aware of. Without a cosigner, no credit history, though I am in the middle of a “gap year” where I will earn about $12,000, would it be possible for me to take out an additional private loan of about $5000?

How much have you borrowed so far?

What year are you in college?

How much more will you have to borrow in the upcoming years?

i think it is very common for students to do this…i guess eligibility would depend on your situation w/ your other loans

I am taking a gap year, I deferred admission and thus haven’t started my freshman year yet. I will have to borrow about $5000/year - $10,000/year if you include the other $5000 in federal loans. But I don’t have a cosigner, so I’m asking if I would be able to get these loans approved.

if you are lookng for some info on student loans or student debt , I just consolidated my loans and am paying them off quite quickly. I had some help from a credit counselor. I highly suggest talking to a professional.

Is there no possibility of finding a credit-worthy cosigner? The interest rate would be based on their credit score in that case.
