I was wondering when and how i apply for federal aid to cover the rest of my college costs? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

ok…define “the rest” of your college costs…

From what it sounds like initially, you got some form of student aid already?

Are you entering college this fall? The deadline for the fafsa was a long time ago. But, if you’re still in high school, you will need to complete the fafsa in january or february. By filling out a fafsa you will have applied for federal aid.

Don’t expect federal aid to cover the majority of your college costs.

Yes, i have received some financial aid already but i still need about 8000 each semester.

Do i have to wait for my tuition bill to apply for a private student loans?

No. But if you are an incoming freshman with no credit history it is likely you will need a cosigner for loans.

I know you probably heard this before but try fastweb. Its one of the best sites out there for finding scholarships. I did it just last night and was able to apply for seven different scholarships in an hour. I know its a gamble but at the very least I can say I tried. The website is great becuase you fill out a profile and it gives you a list of scholarships that you qualify for and only ones that you can still apply for. Other scholarship searches just give you anything but the only scholarships that you see on fastweb are those that you qualify for and that are still taking applications.
