Hello,

I am just wondering if anyone knows whether or not the student budget (on MyFinAid) is final and what the school uses for the “cost of attendance”? Dealing with the financial aid office just makes me stressed out; they only seem to have non-answers.

My housing (Channing-Bowditch) will cost me approximately $11.5k per year, but financial aid is only budgeting me for about $7.5k. This is a huge problem as all of my federal loans + work study + parent loan add up to the total cost of attendance they estimate for me; however, this cost is low by about $4k or $5k.

I can’t apply for a private student loan because I don’t have any unmet needs, so my “cost of attendance” less my financial aid and loans would be $0 (even though that isn’t true).

Has anyone else had this issue? How can I fix it? I’ve tried talking to financial aid but they keep giving me non-answers and directing me to housing. I talk to housing and they said it’s a financial aid issue. I really need some help!

Thanks in advance!
