student government vs Calculus BC

I am trying to decide which class is better for me to take for 1st period…

sadly our high school counts student gov’t as “a class” and it only offers during 1st period !!!

on the other hand, calculus bc is at the community college, but the time is same as our high school’s 1st period !!! (finished cal AB and passed AP exam)

the teacher who’s incharge with student gov’t class doesnt let me have the class on other free period!!!

So, I want to ask …which class should I take based on applying UC and good private college?

student goverment as a class? ***?

Unless your president or its your main passion, personally I’d say AP Calculus BC is much more impressive to elite colleges

AP CACULUS BC without a doubt. Student gov’t as a class is a waste.

ap Calculus…even if you are the student body president…i still thinks it would be better to take calc…

i’ll join the chior – AP Calculus BC!!

Whoa, whoa. OP already passed AP Calc AB. He doesn’t need Calc BC, he needs Calculus II or Calculus II & III at the CC. AB covers Calc I, BC covers Calc I & II. I’d look into Calc II or II & III at the CC after school, during a different period, or online.

Yes, but in favor of a rigorous courseload I dont think its humanely possible to have Student goverment be a rigorous class in comparison to BC, even if hes taken AB.

Course if he doesnt take either and simple goes to the local university to take some advanced course then thats the best choice

if you could take govt 1st period and calc 2 at the CC as a night class or a weekend class or something, that would be best… Colleges do view leadership as important, even if people on this forum dont. However, you should take a math class…

How long have you been in you government class? If you been in it almost every year in high school than i would stay in it because you can use it as leadership or an ec.
