<p>Yes it is. Alternatively, I believe in most cases you can get away with using your Social Security Number (if you’re comfortable writing it down).</p>
<p>It’s your Calnet ID, you’ll be using it a lot in the future.</p>
<p>Commit that eight digit Calnet ID and passcode to memory. You’ll need it to do pretty much anything online related at Berkeley from many course websites (bSpace or Catalyst), Bearfacts, and getting onto the on-campus wireless network among other things.</p>

<p>it could also mean your 7 digit uc appln id from way back in november…it is probably on your acceptance letter somehwere</p>
