Student left in jail cell after pot bust

This is a very sad story, and I plan to show it to our kids. This student was picked up at a marijuana party.

Please note: I’m not saying that pot smoking doesn’t happen everywhere, and I don’t intend to start a polemic about pot use…but in the case of my own kids, to make them aware of the risks.

Careful trying to use this as a lesson in why not to smoke pot. You might get a lot of kids saying it was worth it for 4.1 Mil!

How does anyone anywhere (in the United States) get forgotten for four days in any type of jail cell? I don’t really see this as a risk from smoking marijuana. If it can happen at all, it could happen to someone arrested for speeding, or arrested for no reason at all (by mistake).

This is terrible. How could you forget someone? Thy are right when they said, “They made a terrible mistake.” Like NJres said, this could happen to anyone. It’s not dependent on the fact that is was a raid.

“Oh, Mary Jane, how to you steal my heart and set it ablaze before my eyes.”

What I don’t understand is why someone hasn’t been held responsible for this. I actually think that $4 million isn’t enough for such a horrific “mistake.” The DEA should be made to explain how such a “mistake” happened and who was responsible.

Another article mentioned the raid was about someone dealing ecstasy out of the house, something which the victim was not involved with. This is entirely the fault of the DEA and has nothing to do with using marijuana. He could have been there studying with a friend and been swept up in the raid and then forgotten about.
