Student loan refund.. Can I use it toward next semester?

I got my student loan refund in the mail this week. I’m going into my fourth college semester this summer and I have enough money left over from my pell grant to only take 4 credit hours but I need to take another class as well (3 credits) to get into my program by the end of this coming fall. In reality, I can’t pay out of pocket to cover another 3 credit hours and I am aware that the refund is education purposes (textbooks, personal expenses such as housing, supplies etc.) Is there any way I could use a bit of that money to cover those 3 credit hours? I would take the class in the fall but I’ll already be overloaded with Chemistry, and Anatomy & Physiology II. I don’t want to wait until the following fall to apply when I am so close!

Thanks in advance!

Yes, you can use your current refund to pay for next term.

Keep in mind, however, that if you drop below full time, your Pell and loans will be prorated based on the %age of time you are actually enrolled. In other words, you won’t get 100% unless you are enrolled full time.

Thank you!
