Alright, this is going to take a while to explain. I’ll try to be as clear and concise as possible.

Little background: I developed extreme hypochondria/anxiety/depression/acid reflux about three years ago. This all came at me suddenly, from what I believe was the result of having a bad trip. Even after completely abstaining from any drug use, I still continued to worsen in my condition, and was basically a mess inside. Due to this, I had an insanely off semester, in which I recieved a D+. The next semester, I was able to get my money back/removed from transcript for every class, due to medical documentation.

It is now two years later, and I am working on getting that D+ changed to a W, as I was not in my normal mental state, which is a valid excuse. Since then I have taken 60 credits, receiving ALL As, as I have learned to cope with my problems through methods that don’t really matter to the story.

I sent in an initial petition to the school(Santa Fe Community College) with a psychiatrist’s note, thinking it would be enough. They however, sent me back a denial on the basis that I needed more relevant documentation, reasoning for getting one D+. yet two B+s at the same time(Hypochondria/Anxiety is unexplainable, I always freaked out in that one classroom).

So, basically, in this process of building my case, I went to Gainesville, and picked up all of my emergency room records/doctors records during the time. It has some pretty good stuff for my case, including evidence such as “Patient is fixated on feeling like he is going to die.” and many different check-ins to the emergency room due to common anxiety symptoms, such as chest pain and shortness of breath.

Now, the whole reason behind my question here is this. I am only highlighting certain points of the documents, to point them to the specific evidence. There are certain points under Medical History, on each report that states “Hospitalized for cocaine induced chest pain and anxiety.” This clearly shows anxiety, but also shows that I was involved with cocaine, and this is the only part in all of the reports that says anything I did was drug-related/induced.

Do you think that they would be allowed to judge my case on a cocaine stunt that was 2 years prior? Personally, I don’t think it is relavant, as it was not directly related to any of the issues at hand at the time of the semester. I could obviously leave that part out of the highlighting, but the sentence clearly states anxiety as an issue, which I am trying to prove, so I’m a bit stumped.

Any advice is GREATLY appreciated, and if you have any additional suggestions on how to improve my case, I would also appreciate that too.

Thanks for reading!

PS: If you are wondering why this removal of the grade is so vital, it is because I am transferring to UF in Fall. You must have a 3.7 pre-professional GPA to transfer in, and I believe this should not stop me from doing so. (I got an A in Calculus/Statistics/Acct 1/2/3/Macro and Micro Economics/Computers) (Computers first time was the D+, second time was A, and I fixed PCs for a living at the time, so it clearly wasn’t subject related)
