Does scheduling a zoom call appointment with a student recruiter lower or higher the chance of your acceptance rate?
I believe that the call itself, as long as it is not an official interview, will not change your odds of admission, but it can do at least two beneficial things.
- Demonstrate interest, which many colleges consider in their admissions–this can also be done with campus tours, info sessions, etc.
- Help you understand if the school is a good fit for you, which helps you write your “why this college” essay. Although the call won’t help your chances, an awesome essay can.
