I have a few friends in the EE program, and my boyfriend is doing Aerospace. Engineering is engineering, no matter where you go. The classes can be difficult but upper-division ones give hands-on experience, and the engineering schools LOVES to fund student research. About 10 of my friends are all being paid to do engineering research…that’s a great benefit from going to a large research university. One of the biggest complaints I’ve heard is that most of the professors are foreign, so they have thick accents and it can be hard to get used to their standards of teaching…plus they aren’t really hired to be teachers, they are hired to do research.

As for ASU in general, if you are looking for a certain experience you can find it. Want to party? You can party. Want to do research? You got it here. Want to just pass on through? Yea, that can be done. Want to get an enriched education with challenging classes and other opportunities? That’s here too! You just have to look…
