Great link. Interesting. You can put in different schools easily. Great start.
One caveat is that it doesn’t break it down by major and some majors have better salary outlooks than others.
Although I think it’s kind of funny that all the schools I’m inputting all have “percent married” in the red. So much for nt hopes of spending even more $ on weddings
I don’t see any evidence of this from your link:
“Of concern given SAIC’s Harvard level costs is the very low average income of graduates - lower than other art or private non-profit schools.”
In fact, it seems right on par with its peer institutions.
I’m sorry your child had a bad experience at SAIC, but I find your continual bashing of the school to be curious. Mine has had a good experience there. I hope your child is doing well now.
Two clear points: Their median income is in the mid $20,000 range. That’s quite low by any standards today. And it is rated lower than Illinois colleges.
Later, there’s the ranking. Median student income at age 34 is 58th out of 78th. Certainly some other art colleges are in the same range.
I only evaluated SAIC here and offered it so people can compare. Think you are being a bit defensive.
For spending what it would take to go to Harvard, SAIC is pretty low in what it delivers. Clearly I can say that without knowing all the costs for every art school in the US. But SAIC is very much in the “most expensive” category.
Fully support people who choose to attend there with their eyes open. However, there’s far too little information available on SAIC. So this is offered to help gather.
Thanks for this. My daughter was just accepted at SAIC. I haven’t looked at her letter yet. I am trying to find out how much merit thry typically offer. Initially she’s been offered $64,000 over 4 years. Peanuts… but I’m not sure of that’s the entire offer.
