Both my friend and I are choosing to ED into Tufts. Technically, my profile is better since I have more awards and honors, also higher SAT scores.
However, seeing applications from the same class, will it reduce our chances of getting in since universities value diversity?
I’m in high school, but when you think about it logically, it is two people from the same class out of thousands that apply both ED and RD. Couldn’t see it making a humongous difference, maybe not even considered.
Can I also ask if there are different admission committees for different schools in an university? Like will school of arts and science have different committee than that of engineering
No same school doesn’t matter as much as same demographics
Can you elaborate on same demographics pls?
Last year, two people from my school got into Tufts ED and one more got in RD. Just focus on yourself. If you’re both excellent candidates, then you could both get in! If you’re a better candidate as you said, then maybe you’ll get in and not them. Maybe neither one of you will get in. If that happens, be rest assured that the reason for that isn’t going to be because both of you applied.
