<p>If someone were to ask, what is your planned course of study for college and graduate school, would it make sense to say:</p>
<p>I hope to major in chemical or biomedical engineering and get a pHD.</p>
<p>A pHD in what? A little confused on this.</p>
<p>Why are you already worrying about this? Many kids don’t even know what their undergrad major should be.
Pursue your engineering if that is what you are interested in, and see what interests and opportunities develop. See what faculty mentors you meet and what fields they are in. You may find you don’t NEED a PhD or that you go in a completely different direction than you can imagine now.</p>
<p>Sounds like a question on a scholarship application. Am I right?</p>
<p>Just say “and pursue a post-graduate degree.”</p>
<p>You want to change the word ‘hope’ to ‘plan’.</p>
