Hello!
I am an international student and have lived abroad (not in the US and not in my home country) for the past two years. If I were to attend Princeton, would it be possible for me to do a one-year study abroad in my home country? As I plan on working there, it would be extremely helpful to take courses (as I would need to equate my US degree to a national one and that would make it easier) and network there. Is there any policy against it and how likely is it that I will be accepted? Do you know who I can email to know more?
Thank you
@DustyMind
Princeton encourages students to study or work in a foreign country. I believe that over half of all students have some type of international experience while they are an undergraduate at Princeton. See: https://www.princeton.edu/oip/sap/about-sap/types/ The foreign university must be approved by Princeton and the courses that you take must be relevant to your major. From the Princeton website: “You can study abroad for a semester (fall or spring) or a year. Princeton accepts credit from more than 100 programs and universities in 43 countries. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, you can also petition to have another program approved.” Here is an email address for information about Study Abroad Programs: sap@princeton.edu
