Study Abroad- Nicaragua

I have not posted here in a long time. My daughter graduated in 2009 and she settled into college life at Macalester and I settled into my empty nest :)

Today we start a new experience. I put her on a plane in a few hours for her trip to study in Nicaragua. She will be there until the end of December.

She spent the summer getting ready, travel doctor, prescriptions, mosquito netting, iodine tablets, home stay gifts etc.

We are both excited but yet nervous. She flies from Mpls to Houston and then to Nicaragua. I will be anxiously awaiting some kind of confirmation that she has landed and is safely in the hands of her homestay family with ALL of her supplies.

Wish me luck and any advice on not worrying would be fantastic lol

Best of luck - it sounds like a wonderful opportunity.

My DD spent a month in South America this summer and had the time of her life, despite an unscheduled trip extension due to a volcanic ash cloud closing the airport. Skype is a wonderful thing. Very reassuring to be able to see her as well as talk for free.

Your DD will love it. Best of luck.
