Study Abroad/Transfer?????

Can a student study abroad/transfer to another school in the US for a year?

Like if you go to UCLA could you transfer to University of Miami for a year and then come back to UCLA?

Many schools have reciprocal exchange programs with other colleges. These programs would be the only sure-fire way to spend a year at another school and go back to your home school. Generally, in these cases, you continue to pay tuition at your home school (the two schools try to balance the number of exchange students in both directions).

You’ll need to check with each school on your list to see what exchange relationships they have.

Doing a permanent transfer and then hoping to transfer back is big pain in the butt for both schools. I wouldn’t count on selective schools being very excited about accomodating that.

I think your talking about the National Student Exchange. Not all schools participate and within the schools that do, not all majors can study at a different school. check out www.nse.org for more information or your school’s study abroad office.

Hey thanks FFAgirl06…that is exactly what I was looking for.
