How many undergraduates participate and how accesible is it?

Around 20% participate in the “typical” study abroad that involves a term or more of study. However, that number goes higher when you add in programs like GIEU, which takes students abroad for shorter-term projects (which makes them feasible for transfers and students in programs which make study abroad harder). Students also work or volunteer abroad in various programs. Accessibility depends on your major and where you want to go abroad. Not all students use U-M programs.

I have a quick question, I am applying as a transfer student for the winter of 2009. I am currently studying abroad in England. I was wondering how much if any does that play in their decision for admittance.
